Type 305 stainless steel finishing screws by Simpson Strong Tie will protect your cedar from stains and streaks. Use trim-head screws for less noticeable fastening on any of your projects. The Type-17 point will allow for fast starts. Pre-drilling is recommended at board ends to prevent splitting. 1-5/8" trim screws have coarse threads running approximately 2/3 up the shank.
